Lifetime Orders Flowers in the Attic Sequel, and Other Less Impressive Updates

Lifetime Orders Flowers in the Attic Sequel
I never thought I'd say this...but Lifetime loves us.

The real news is in the headline.  The remainder of the article is just a summary of the upcoming FitA remake.  I hope that this level of optimism mean that the film is going to be great.

While I'm here and since it's on topic, the next Petals on the Wind post will be up on Saturday.  It, too, is going to be long, since I'm trying to cover Cathy's entire first marriage in a single entry.  The pacing is just weird in this section.  Keep an eye out!

  1. For Yule this year, my wonderful husband got me just about every single VC Andrews book (there are only a handful missing...he got the collection from eBay). The Dollanganger books are some of my all-time favorites, but over the years I had gotten rid of them and my husband knew how much I missed them, so now I have this amazing collection.

Anyway...so far I have re-read FITA and POTW. I was doing some web surfing and found your blog the other night. OMG...I was laughing so hard I was crying. You are spot on with your observations (some that never even dawned on to me, but make so much sense). I hope you continue posting because this blog is sensational! (btw...have you noticed how many times VC uses that word in POTW? I was about to create a reading drinking game about it!)

Can't wait for the next installment! :)

    1. Aw, thank you! I suffer from this fear that my jokes are only funny to me, so having people say they cried from laughter is music to my ears. <3

  2. Now this is interesting. After all these years, Andrews and her lore are finally getting some interest/funding. What would really make my day is if they would follow through on a quality series for The Landry or even the Dawn series. Even though this might be blasphemy in Andrewsland, those were always my favorite series and the characters that resonated the most with me (although Heaven was up there too). I found FITA and especially Audrina far too dark and depressing. Maybe I'm really just a Neiderman fan at heart :-D

    1. There was talk of making The Landrys a series quite a while back, around the same time the Rain movie came out. Since the new film (Saturday!) is getting such great hype, I hope they revive that idea. There are a lot of Landry fans around. It's probably the most popular of all the ghostwritten series.

  3. I'm honestly surprised that Lifetime hasn't done this sooner. Flowers and its sequels kind of fit in to the over-the-top drama movies that they made back in the 90's and early 2000's (I haven't watched the channel recently, so I don't know if those types of movies are still being made).

But after the long trailer you posted, and now this news.... Golly lolly, am I excited~

    1. Oh yes, they are still making scads of deliciously over-the-top movies. There's a Lizzie Borden one coming out the week after FITA, and my fanaticism for Flowers is only exceeded by my love of Lizzie, so TV-moviewise, this is like late Christmas for me! It's just that there's scads of Lizzie movies and a FITA remake is something I never thought would happen.

(They also made a film version of one of my favorite horror novels, The House Next Door, a few years back. It was...not-so-memorable.)

    1. Darn it, England! :(

(It's going to be 3 AM UK time anyway. Maybe someone will have it online by the time you wake up?)
